How does a principal know if the teacher has responded to the prompt(s)?

Background

When the teacher responds to a prompt sent by the principal, the eVAL tool does not automatically generate an email message that is sent to the principal. Rather, it's not until the principal signs into eVAL again that s/he knows that that the teacher has responded.

The previous article covered how the teacher responds to the principal's pre-conference prompts.  This article provides information about how the principal will know if the teacher has responded.

Let's Get Started

The principal should sign in to eVAL, click on the Options link in the menu, and choose the work area called Evaluate Teachers.

  1. Use the drop-down menu to choose the teacher whose responses you wish to read.
  2. In the section called Activity Summary on the right, you will notice an orange NEW notification next to the Observations link. The orange notification is not hyperlinked; it is simply a notification icon.
  3. Click on the Observations link to the left of the orange notification.

You will be taken to the Observations section further down the page.

  1. Look for the orange NEW notification icon inthe Status column. The text that is nearby will provide a short description of the most recent activity.
  2. To get more information about the most recent activity, click on the green View button in the right column.

Read the next article to learn how a principal views the teacher's response to a pre-conference prompt.
