How does a principal navigate to the Notes Editor when conducting a formal observation?

Background:

In an earlier chapter, instructions were provided for pre-scheduling a formal observation. This chapter follows up on that information, and provides the steps on navigating to the Notes Editor, where the principal can script the observation.

Follow these steps for scripting a formal observation:

  1. Click on the Options link in the top portion of the menu, and choose the Work Area to Evaluate Teachers.
  2. Click on the green Done button.
  3. Choose the teacher's name in the drop-down menu on the left.

Then click on the Observations menu item in the menu bar on the left. A green marker will appear to the left of the word Observations to indicate that the Observations menu has been activated.

For a formal observation:

Find the observation in the list that was pre-scheduled, and click on the green View button on the right side of the work area.

You'll come to the work space for the Setup tab, where the conference was pre-scheduled. But there are other tabs along the top of the work space. Click on the Observe tab.

The work space for the Observe tab will look similar to the screen image below.
