How does a principal share observation scores with a teacher?

Background:

There are several reasons why a principal may wish to share his/her observation scores with a teacher. Perhaps the principal has already asked the teacher to conduct a self-evaluation of the coded evidence from the observation, and wants to eventually compare the teacher's scores with the principal's scores. Perhaps the principal wants the teacher to be able to view the scores before the post-conference in order to maximize their post-conference meeting. Or perhaps there's another reason. This article will take the principal through the steps of sharing the observation scores with the teacher.

Follow these steps:

In the Observation module for that teacher, find the Sharing button on the right edge of the tab bar and click on it. (The button will be white if the principal has not shared any observation data with the teacher as of yet. The button will be black if the principal has shared his/her observation notes or allowed the teacher to conduct a self-evaluation of the evidence that was collected from the observation and coded.)

A dialog box will appear, showing the status of shared observation data with the teacher. Click on the green Edit button.

Click on the slider button across from Share Evaluator Scores so that it displays the word Yes in green. Then read the red note a the bottom of the window before clicking on the green Save Options button.

Read the next article to learn how a teacher can view the observation scores shared by the principal.
