Notes Editor - Removing Coding

1. Place your cursor between the start and end tag for a coded section of text.

When you place your cursor in the text within a coded section, the tool bar button(s) for the surrounding coded sections will become highlighted.

2. Click the toolbar button for the component you want to remove.

After you click the rubric component button, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the coding.

The coded evidence will be removed from the observation notes as well as from the list of available evidence within the rubric.

3. Or, remove the coding by selecting and removing text that includes coding.

In the screenshot below, I have selected a section of text that includes coded text.

If, I now delete that entire section by entering the Enter, Delete, or Backspace key, then the same confirmation dialog will come up to confirm that you want to delete the selected coding. If you answer Yes, then the text (including the coding) will be removed. If you chooise No, then the text will not be removed.

4. Packaged evidence cannot be removed.

If the evidence that has been coded has been included in an Evidence Package, then the coding cannot be removed from the observation notes. In the screenshot below, the coded evdience for 1.4 has been included in an evidence package.

Coding for evidence that has been packaged cannot be deleted from the notes. The coded section will be greyed-out and attempts to delete it will not be permitted.
