How does a principal create pre-conference prompts "on the fly?"

Background

Even though the Prompt Bank can store prompts that have already been created, the principal may decide to customize a prompt for a teacher. Once the creates a new prompt "on the fly," s/he can then choose to add that prompt to the Prompt Bank for future use.

In the previous article, we discussed the steps required to select prompts that are already available in the Prompt Bank. This article walks the principal through creating pre-conference prompts "on the fly." The steps used in this article are the same steps for creating post-conference prompts "on the fly" as well.

Let's Get Started

To add a prompt "on the fly," click on the + sign in the green circle, located at the bottom of the list of Selected Prompts.

  1. Type your new prompt into the Prompt field.
  2. If you want to add this prompt to the Prompt Bank, click in (and add a check mark to) the check box by the words Add to Bank?
  3. Click on the green Done button.

If all of the prompts that you want to send to the teacher are now listed in the Selected Prompts section of the page, then you are ready to send the prompts to the teacher. To do so, click on the green Send Prompts button under the list of selected prompts.

Once you send the prompts to the teacher, the eVAL tool will display a page that shows:

  1. ... the prompts that were sent.
  2. ... the date the prompts were sent.
  3. ... a green button that allows you to edit the prompts.
