How does a principal share observation notes with the teacher that has been observed?

Background:

A principal may wish to share the observation notes with the teacher that was observed. This article describes the steps to do so. Please be aware that when a principal simply shares the observation notes, the coding is not shared.

How to share observation notes with a teacher:

In the Observations module for the teacher, take note of all of the tabs at the top of the work space. Two buttons appear at the right end of the tab bar:

  1. a white Share button, and...
  2. a green Send Final Report button.

Click on the white Share button.

A dialog box will appear on your screen, confirming that you want to share some aspect of the observation data with the teacher. If that's what you want to do, click on the green Setup Sharing button. Otherwise, click on the white Close button.

If you selected the green Setup Sharing button in the step above, the following dialog box will appear, requesting more information about the aspects of this observation that you wish to share with the teacher. To simply share the observation notes (without the coding), click in the small white space directly to the left of the red button for Share Observation Notes.

Click on that button (above) will change that button from No to Yes. Please read the red reminder at the bottom of the dialog box before clicking the green Save Options button.

Now that you have saved one or more aspects of the observation data with the teacher, the button that used to be white will now be black, indicating that some aspect of the observation has been shared.
