How can a teacher and principal compare their scores of the summative evaluation?

Background:

If the principal has allowed the teacher to self-evaluate the evidence shared from the summative evaluation ... and ... if the principal has scored the evidence ... then the two scores can be compared, which can lead to a meaningful discussion about quality instruction and professionalism. This article covers the steps that a principal and teacher would take to compare their scores of the evidence.

Follow these steps:

Both the teacher and the principal need to get into the Summative Evaluation module and view the tabs for this evaluation. Once they do that, they should follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Evidence/Scoring tab.
  2. Make sure the Input Filter says Merged.
  3. Choose a component in the Rubric Navigator.
  4. Use the Color Index at the top to see the similarities and differences in how the principal and the teacher scored the evidence that was coded to that component.

This is the last article in this chapter.
