How does a district-wide teacher evaluator get permission to observe or evaluate a teacher?
Step 1: District-wide Teacher Evaluator Requests Assignments
The first step must be completed by the District-wide Teacher Evaluator. Navigate to the Setup/Assignment Requests section from the left navigation menu.
- Select the School where the teacher resides.
- Click the Create Request button in the Action Column for the Teacher you want to evaluate.
Once the Create Request button has been clicked, an entry for the pending request will be created. This request will then be processed by the District Admin and this entry will be updated to reflect the changes.
Step 2: District Admin Processes the Request.
The DIstrict Admin should navigate to the Assignments section from the left navigation menu. The pending DTE (District Wide Teacher Evaluator) requests will be displayed from the top-level Assignments Summary table. Click on the View button for the school row to drill down into the school assignments screen.
The District-wide Teacher Evaluator Assignment Requests section is outlined in the screenshot below. As the District Admin, you have the option to Approve or Reject the request by selecting the option in the Status dropdown. You also have the option to choose the Type of Assignment. You can choose to allow the evaluator to only perform observations, or to be the Summative Evaluator.
